Attempted murder suspect arrested for violating bail conditions

A 39-year-old man, charged with attempted murder, has been arrested again for violating his bail conditions.

Roughly a year ago, Damian Richards was arrested after a targeted shooting. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, and was released on bail.

In April 2025, Richards was arrested for violating the terms of his bail. He remained in Custody and was released in October with strict house arrest conditions.

Police allege that Richards has once again broken his conditions on six occasions from January 30 to February 13, 2026.

He was arrested on Saturday while out on University Avenue West and has been additionally charged with six counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Richard's surety also faces charges. The 59-year-old man was with him at the time of the arrest and charged with facilitating a breach of a release order.
