The Sarnia Sting suffered a 7-4 loss to the Firebirds in Flint Wednesday night.
Flint jumped out to an early lead scoring five goals in the first period and carried a 5-1 lead into the second frame.
Calgary Flames prospect Jacob Battaglia scored the game-winning goal in his debut for Flint with his 15th of the year.
Brenner Lammens, Jordan Bax, Easton Walos, and Alessandro Di Iorio all scored for Sarnia in the loss.
The Sting drop to 11-23-4-1 on the season.
The win moves Flint into a tie for first place in the Western Conference.
Sarnia is home to the Erie Otters on Friday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
