Art in the Park returns for 43rd year

The 43rd annual Art in the Park will return to Bright's Grove on Saturday, September 6, with 125 vendors.

The outdoor event, organized by the Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland, will be held at Mike Weir Park from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The artisan vendors will sell a variety of products, including jewelry, paintings, garden art, medal sculptures, pottery, and glass art.

"The vendors really enjoy this sale because of the people that arrive," said Rotary Club member Scott McKelvie. "It's a very upbeat feeling for the whole park for the entire day."

He said there will also be food vendors, kids' activities, and live music in the afternoon.

Club member Chris West gave credit to Gallery in the Grove for starting Art in the Park four decades ago.

"We took it over 12 years ago when it just became too big. It was on the front lawn of the gallery so we took it over and moved it into Mike Weir Park, expanded it," West said.

There will be free parking with attendants to assist.

"It's a free will donation which we use to give back to the community, both locally and internationally," West said. "We have tap or cash."

There will be two entrances into the event.
