Starting Monday, motorists in LaSalle will notice that Laurier Drive is closed at Front Road.
Construction has reduced Front Road to a single lane in each direction between Boismier Avenue and Reaume Road for the past month, but sewer work is now expected to begin at the intersection of Front and Laurier Drive.
Traffic on Laurier Drive will be detoured onto Michigan Avenue and Reaume Road. Vehicles on Front Road that typically exit at Laurier will have to make that turn at International Avenue or Reaume Road, and there will be no northbound left-hand turns onto Laurier during the closure.
Access to the boat ramp will only be allowed from southbound Laurier Drive.
The town completed the first two phases of a stormwater master plan through the municipal class environmental assessment process in 2024. The main goal is to find ways to improve infrastructure to reduce the risk of flooding.
