Windsor police officers had a busy two days.
Officers with the Traffic Enforcement Unit were conducting proactive enforcement actions at locations throughout the city, resulting in the issuance of 181 tickets.
Common infractions included speeding and distracted driving. Police also issued citations for driving while suspended, unauthorized use of licence plates, and other traffic-related offences.
Police also cited drivers for operating their vehicles without insurance, and want to remind the public of the steep consequences.
"Drivers are reminded that penalties for driving without insurance start at $5,000 for a first offence," read a social media post from Windsor police. "Additional consequences may include licence suspension, vehicle impoundment, and significantly higher insurance premiums."
