Annual golf tournament raises $48K for St. Clair Twp. food banks

Three food banks in St. Clair Township have received a helping hand after the 2026 Emergency Services Charity Golf Tournament raised $48,000 this past summer.

Th event, organized by the St. Clair Township Fire Department with event sponsor CF Industries, was held in June at the St. Clair Parkway Golf Course in Mooretown.

“We were so proud to host this event again alongside our friends at CF Industries,” said St. Clair Township Fire Chief Richard Boyes in a municipal media release. “It was wonderful to see everyone come together for a day of golf, fun and, most importantly, giving back. It’s a great example of community partners working together to support our friends and neighbours in need. These donations will make a meaningful difference for our local food banks and the people they serve.”

Proceeds were set to be split between St. Andrew’s Food Bank in Corunna, the Little Caring Cupboard at Brigden United Church, and Sacred Heart Food Bank in Port Lambton.

"We are proud to support such an important cause in partnership with St. Clair Fire. The golf tournament was another success, and we want to thank everyone who supported the day,” said CF General Manager Steve Jonkhans. “We look forward to continuing to build

strong partnerships and contributing to the community, with next year’s planning expected to begin soon."

The annual tournament returned in 2025 after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event has raised a total of $90,000 in two years, providing $30,000 to each of the three local food banks, said the municipality.
