Legionnaires held winless in 2025-26

The Sarnia Legionnaires' historically bad season officially came to an end over the weekend with an 8-2 loss against Elmira.

Sarnia concluded the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) campaign with zero victories and 50 losses.

The club scored a total of just 83 goals and allowed 341. Both of those totals ranked last among all 23 teams.

The second worst team in the GOHL's Western Conference was Komoka. They had a 16-31-2-1 record and 35 points.

The Legionnaires iced a young squad, with a total of 18 rookies and a number of players from last season moved on.

Kael Cooper led the team with 24 points, while Sarnia Sting prospect Sarvir Jaworski had a team-high 12 goals.

It was Head Coach Mike Bondy's first year as bench boss after Brian Irwin resigned in the offseason.

The playoffs will begin in the GOHL later this week. The London will face the Stratford St. Marys Lincolns will meet Strathroy while St. Thomas will meet either Chatham or Elmira.
