Armour stones dragged along Cathcart Blvd. after collision

Sarnia police say charges have been laid after a stolen tractor-trailer damaged a north-end roundabout, as well as the surrounding roadway.

Police said the big rig collided with a garden bed at the roundabout at Cathcart Boulevard and Indian Road North on Thursday at around 12:30 pm.

The westbound truck reportedly dragged several armour stones before stopping at the intersection of Cathcart Boulevard and Colborne Road.

Police said the trailer portion of the vehicle and licence plate were reported stolen from Peel Region on September 6.

As a result, a 27-year-old Nobleton resident and a 49-year-old from Mississauga were charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and several traffic and bylaw charges under the Provincial Offences Act.

Public Works crews were called to the roundabout to clean up the area.
