Kincardine man accused of crashing vehicle, running from police

A 32-year-old Kincardine man is facing charges after a single-vehicle crash that led to a foot chase and drug seizure.

Saugeen Shores police were called about a vehicle that had gone into the ditch on Bruce-Saugeen Townline around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The driver of the vehicle allegedly took off running when officers arrived and attempted to speak with him.

Police blocked off the area and the canine units were brought in to help with the search.

Soon after, police began getting calls about suspicious activity in the area of Bruce Road 40 and the B Line.

Shortly before 8 p.m., a Kincardine man was arrested in an open area on Sideroad 18/19. Police seized an undisclosed quantity of methamphetamine.

The man is charged with dangerous driving, resisting arrest, failure to remain at the scene of a collision, possession of drugs, and three counts of driving while prohibited.
