Windsor police release video of suspects in debit card scam (VIDEO)

Windsor police have continued the search for suspects in an alleged scam that has cost victims thousands of dollars.

Three victims told investigators that a young woman approached them in a parking lot, saying that she needed help paying for a delivery. The suspect said she had only cash but needed a debit card.

In a video posted to X on Friday, Windsor Police Constable Bianca Jackson described what happened next in each case.

"Once she [the suspect] finds somebody willing to use their debit card, the pair will approach a person posing as a delivery driver," said Jackson. "The victim then enters their debit card into a machine and enters their PIN. Once the transaction is complete, the delivery driver then switches the victim's card with a card that looks that looks very similar to theirs."

The second suspect is described as a Black female, 20 to 25 years old.

Anyone who can identify either suspect, or who may have been a victim of this scam, should immediately call Windsor police's Financial Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, extension 4330.
