Sting celebrate Christmas at the Hive with a win

The Sarnia Sting have won three in a row with a 6-4 win Sunday over the visiting Guelph Storm.

Newly named captain Alessandro Di Iorio had two goals and an assist in the win.

Liam Beamish also scored a pair of goals for Sarnia while goalie Patrick Quinlan made 34 saves in net.

Following the game, the special holiday themed game-worn Sting Jerseys were placed on the auction block in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

You can place your bid online until Wednesday night.

Sunday's victory followed a 3-2 overtime win over the Firebirds in Flint Saturday night.

The Sting finish the winning weekend at 10-17-3-1 in the West Division, two points behind the Erie Otters for the eighth and final playoff spot.

The Sting are home to the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.

You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).
