Grab your camera: Bluewater Trails photo contest enters final fall season

Local photographers are being encouraged to capture the beauty of the region as the Bluewater Trails Committee (BTC) launches the fourth and final phase of its "Seasons of Sarnia" photo contest.

The fall-themed contest invites residents to submit photos taken while exploring trails and parks across Lambton County.

BTC Spokesperson Roel Bus said entries can be submitted through the committee's website until the end of November in one of three categories.

"One is activities on the trails so walking, running, cycling, enjoying nature, birdwatching, that kind of thing," said Bus. "Then also nature on the trails, so birds and animals, trees, plants, insects and then scenic views on the trails."

A total of four winners will be selected across the three categories, including a People's Choice winner who will walk away with $300. Winning entries will also be featured in an upcoming gallery showcase, with a location to be announced at a later date.

Bus noted the conclusion of the photo contest coincides with the end of the current committee's two-year term, giving members a chance to look back on their progress.

"Apart from the photo contest, I just want to say that we've accomplished a lot for the trails in our community like surface renewal and maintenance. We're like ambassadors for the trails, and trying to get people to use them more."

For full contest details, or to submit a photo entry visit the Bluewater Trails Committee website.
