Members of Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation will cast ballots next month to select a chief and nine councillors.
Election day is set for Saturday, November 7th, with in-person voting open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hillside School Gym.
Four candidates are running for chief including incumbent Kimberly Bressette, who is seeking a third term. She has held the position since 2022.
Bressette is being challenged by David Cloud, Irvin George, and Wesley Monague.
They are joined by a full field of candidates vying for the nine council positions.
All band members who are 18-years-old or older as of election day are eligible to vote, either in person or by mail-in ballot.
If you plan to vote by mail, the deadline to request a mail-in package from Electoral Officer Amanda Commanda is Friday, October 23rd.
She can be contacted by calling 705-309-2349 or by email at [email protected]
