A Sarnia native has been acquired by his hometown team.
The Sting have picked up forward Brody Najim from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for Sarnia's conditional 13th-round pick in the 2030 OHL Priority Selection.
Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said the organization values Najim's competitiveness, leadership, and work ethic.
He joins the organization as a potential depth addition, providing flexibility and hockey I.Q.
"Brody is a player that we see strong potential in," said Seca. "We believe that teams that are set up to be strong are going to need a variety of players at all positions throughout the course of the year. And this transaction gives us that added depth. Brody is also a local product, and someone we believe could have some upside in this league."
The 18-year-old played 20 games for the Spirit in the 2025-26 season, before finishing the season in the GOJHL.
Between the Chatham Maroons and the Komoka Kings, Najim put up 16 points in 17 games played.
The Sting said Najim won't begin the season on the active roster and will instead be reassigned to continue his development.
