A Sarnia youth is being recognized internationally for his proficiency in coding.
Declan Fleman, 12, earned first place in his age category in the global Jurassic Code competition, using an online learning platform provided by Lambton County Library.
The Fiero Code contest took place from June 1 to July 31.
Coders from around the globe were tasked with creating a digger-style video game complete with multiple levels of increasing difficulty, and custom characters and sound effects.
"Every problem is just motivation to think differently," said Fleman who plans to compete in the next Fiero Code contest and wants to learn the programming language C++.
Fiero Code is an online platform for learning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and more.
