Sarnia police charge 80-year-old woman in hit and run

An 80-year-old woman is facing charges after a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in April.

According to Sarnia police, on April 16 around 2 p.m. a woman was walking through the crosswalk at a green light at the intersection of Vidal and George Streets when she was struck by a vehicle that was turning left.

Police obtained dash cam video of the collision and later identified the vehicle involved and a suspect.

Dorothy Jaecques of Sarnia is charged with careless driving and failure to remain at the scene of a collision. She will appear in court at a later date.
