Two people have been arrested by Sarnia police for alleged shoplifting.
On April 14, at 11:55 a.m., officers were called to a retailer on Confederation Street for a theft in progress, after a man and a woman were reportedly seen placing items into their bags and the woman left without attempting to pay, while the man bought a drink.
Shortly after, police located both individuals who were allegedly carrying bags of stolen items.
A 36-year-old woman was held for bail on charges of theft under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with probation.
A 35-year-old man was held for bail on charges of theft under $5,000, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, and disobeying a court order.
Sarnia police noted that since April 2025, police have had 18 interactions with the man who was arrested.
