Chamber CEO joining Sarnia Police Service Board

A prominent local businesswoman is joining the Sarnia Police Service Board.

Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEachran was provincially appointed to the position.

She takes over for Paul Wiersma, who left the board in February 2026 at the end of his term.

McEachran has also built a successful career in the non-profit sector, holding senior leadership roles with organizations such as Sarnia-Lambton Rebound, Pathways Health Centre for Children, and Community Living Sarnia-Lambton.

She serves on several local and provincial boards, including the Premier’s Council on Equality of Opportunity, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership and Community Living Sarnia Lambton.

McEachran holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University and has been a proud member of the Rotary Club of Sarnia for 16 years.

In a news release, Board Chair Kelly Ash said she's pleased to welcome McEachran to the board.

"She joins our board at a critical time when important strategic decisions will need to be made," said Ash. "She brings a valued perspective and exceptional qualifications to this role. The board looks forward to working together to ensure adequate and effective policing services are provided to the City of Sarnia.”

Ash was elected chair in late January, and Sarnia Councillor Anne Marie Gillis was named vice chair.
