Voting in salt spreader naming contest open to the public

Community voting has opened for the public school board's salt spreader naming contest.

The Lambton Kent District School Board said over the past week, classes from across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent have submitted their most creative and community spirited name suggestions for the "Name Our Salt Spreader" Contest.

"We are thrilled to share that the 83 submissions are now live, and it’s time for our broader community to help choose the winners," read a news release from LKDSB.

Residents can vote on the submissions, which include names like Ice Ice Salty, Sir Salt-A-Lot, and Ctrl Salt Delete, online until Tuesday, February 17.

The winners will be announced on February 19 and the name will be proudly displayed on the salt spreaders carrier truck.

The classes whose names earn the highest number of votes will receive also receive a pizza party.
