Ribbon cut to officially kick off Dream Home Lottery

The Bluewater Health Foundation's 31st Dream Home Lottery is officially underway.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the $1.46 million home at 1077 Manhattan Dr. in Sarnia.

Executive Director Kathy Alexander said tickets are now available.

She said funds raised directly support local health care.

"We've been able to purchase so many incredible and important pieces of equipment over the years, like CTs, MRIs, and mammography machines," said Alexander. "We share the proceeds with the CEE Hospital Foundation in Petrolia. Their proceeds are supporting their emergency room redevelopment. In Sarnia, we have a number of priorities. We're just wrapping up our oncology project we've been working on. That was a $5 million campaign."

Alexander said they'll also need to replace some aging diagnostic imaging equipment, which will be a key area of focus for the next few fundraisers.

This year's prize board is, once again, the largest in the lottery's history.

Alexander said there are over 11,000 prizes up for grabs.

"I think we tend to up the ante every year it seems," she said. "The dream calendar is back, which did really well last year. The 50/50 pot will grow each and every day. We're just thrilled and excited about this year's home."

Other prizes include a brand new BMW, a travel package, and thousands of dollars worth of gift cards.

The home, in the Rapids Parkway subdivision, was built by Bridlewood Homes.

The interior design and styling was done by 12|26 Design Co. and the architectural planning was undertaken by Centre Line Home Design.

Bridlewood Homes President Carmine Gargarella said the home blends elegance, functionality, and modern living.

"It has been an honour to bring this year’s Dream Home to life in support of Bluewater Health Foundation," he said.

Owner and Designer of 12|26 Design Co. Victoria Morphy said a lot of planning went into the layout.

"Every room was thoughtfully designed to inspire comfort and style," said Morphy. "We want guests to walk in and immediately feel at home."

Since the lottery's inception, over $11 million has been raised towards priority projects.

The dream home will officially open to the public with a celebration and day of food, local vendors, live entertainment and family fun, including a Kids Zone, sponsored by Remax.

That will take place on Saturday, September 13 from noon until 5 p.m.

Open houses will be held every Saturday and Sunday from September 13 until February 1, except for a pause between Christmas and New Year's.

The deadline to purchase tickets is by noon on February 4.

They can be found online, or you can call 1-844-667-3251.

The Dream Home grand prize draw is set for February 19, 2026.
