A family was left shaken after being allegedly threatened by an unknown armed man.
Sarnia police responded to a weapons call in the area of Exmouth Street and Colborne Road at around 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 3.
A 21-year-old man leaving a store in the area with his two young children, his 15-year-old sister and her boyfriend, told police a man with a knife shouted at them, "Come here, come here, come here pretty girl."
The family attempted to walk away, but the man continued to follow them, yelling and intimidating them.
Police said the suspect was accompanied by two other individuals who had left the area walking toward the overpass.
Responding officers quickly located two males matching the suspect descriptions sitting on the grass near the overpass on Colborne Road and conducted a high risk arrest, but one suspect allegedly refused to follow police commands requiring officers to use a conducted energy weapon to subdue him.
During a search of the suspect, officers located two knives.
Kerry Lamb was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
While in custody, police alleged the 56-year-old man was extremely uncooperative, urinated on the floors and walls of his cell, spit on the cell door, and attempted to damage video monitoring equipment.
As a result, Lamb faces an additional criminal charge of mischief under $5,000.
