Sarnia man dies in Highway 402 crash Friday

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say an 87-year-old Sarnia man died in a three vehicle crash Friday afternoon, near London.

It happened at around 12:25 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of Highway 402 between Colonel Talbot Road and Wonderland Road.

Police said a westbound SUV crossed over the median into the eastbound lanes and collided with a minivan and transport truck.

A passenger in the minivan died, while four others were being treated at hospital for injuries. The driver of the transport truck was uninjured.

At around 4:15 p.m., police said the road was expected to be closed in that area for the next eight hours.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call Middlesex OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
