Sting add more size to blueline

The Sarnia Sting have signed defenceman Kaden Aucoin to an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Standard Player Agreement.

The Hinsdale, Illinois native was selected by the Sting in the 2nd round, 26th overall in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Aucion is listed at 6' 3'' and 175 pounds.

He had 11 goals and 37 assists in 70 games with the Chicago Mission AAA program this past season.

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said Aucoin checks all of the team's boxes, and they believe he has the ability to be a high-end defender.

"Kaden is an exciting prospect, and we feel his game suits our style of play," said Seca. "He defends well, has strong mobility and has the instincts we seek in a defenceman. We expect him to a popular player for this organization and we are proud to welcome Kaden and the Aucoin family to Sarnia."

Kaden's father, Adrian, was a hard hitting rearguard who played in over 1,100 NHL games with six teams including Vancouver and Phoenix.

The Sting said his father’s experience at the highest level has played a key role in Kaden’s development, both on and off the ice.
