The Judith and Norman Alix Foundation has approved over $460,000 in funding to support 12 local projects as part of its 2025 commitment to reinvest in the community.
The largest grant, $100,000, is being directed to the Kiwanis Children's Animal Farm Foundation to construct a storage barn at the Children's Animal Farm in Canatara Park.
St. Joseph's Hospice will receive just over $85,000 for renovations and upgrades to its residence and resource centre.
The Alvinston and District Optimists Club has been awarded $65,000 for lighting and to resurface the Brooke Alvinston Inwood Community Centre outdoor multi-purpose sports courts.
Bluewater Health will receive $48,000 for renovations to the Cancer Clinic.
The Moore Agricultural Society will get a $40,000 boost for accessibility upgrades and new washrooms at the Brigden Fairgrounds.
Scouts Canada has also been granted $40,000, for Camp Attawandaron kitchen renovations.
Grant funding was also directed to Lambton Centre, March of Dimes, Sarnia-Lambton Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile, The Village of Oil Springs, Moore Museum and Theatre Sarnia.
Over its 30 year history, The Judith and Norman Alix Foundation has advanced more than $6 million to over 50 community projects.
