The Sarnia Imperials football team is getting ready to defend its Ontario Power 5 Football League (OP5FL) title.
The club hosts the Sudbury Spartans on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Norm Perry Park.
It's a rematch of the 2024 championship, which the Imperials won 22-9.
Last year marked the inaugural season for the OP5FL.
The three other teams are the Sault Steelers, Tri City Outlaws, and Burlington Longhorns.
Sarnia will visit Tri City June 7, and host the Longhorns June 14.
They're in Sault Ste. Marie on June 28, in Burlington on July 5, and home to the Outlaws to wrap up the regular season July 12.
The league's semi-finals will take place July 26 and this year's championship match will be held August 9.
According to its website, the OP5FL proudly stands as Ontario's premier men's football league, bringing together a rich tapestry of history, talent, and passion for the game.
The Imperials had been part of the Northern Football Conference from 2006 to 2023.
In their history, the Imperials appeared in three Grey Cup championship games, winning twice in 1934 and in 1936.
