The Sarnia Pop Culture Show continues to grow in popularity as the 10th annual event is scheduled to take place this weekend.
Co-organizer Trent Rogers said nearly 70 vendors and exhibitors have signed up for the convention. There will also be activities and cosplay.
"There's going to be a lot of fantastic Star Wars characters wandering around because we have representatives of the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion, and the Mandalorian Mercs all coming in force. So there will be a lot of really great, great Star Wars costumes," he said. "Our cosplay guest for the year is the Windsor Ghostbusters, so there will also be some ghostbusting happening."
Rogers said last year was the first time they saw over 1,000 attendees.
"Ever since the pandemic, when people couldn't do it for three years, they've really been coming out and supporting the show," he said. "I think they're happy to have us back so it's been great."
Technically, this would be the convention's 13th year running but they lost a few years during the pandemic.
The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 13 at the Point Edward Arena from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each, kids 11 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
A portion of the ticket sales will go to support St. Clair Child and Youth Services.
Last year, $5,000 was raised for the organization.
