Police arrest suspect connected to Mount Forest break-in

A recent break-in at a Mount Forest business has resulted in police arresting a Mount Forest man.

According to Wellington County OPP, on September 17 at 3:30 a.m., officers were conducting patrols in Mount Forest when officers spotted what they identified as a suspicious person.

Officers were then alerted to an alarm activation at a business on Main Street. Police arrived and found that the business had been broken into and the person responsible had left prior to police arriving at the scene. Through an investigation, officers determined the identity of the suspect and arrested them nearby.

As a result, a 48-year-old man from Mount Forest has been arrested and charged with break-and-enter and theft under $5,000.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on December 8, 2026.
