Huron-Kinloss opens depot for residential recycling

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has opened a Residential Recycling Depot to respond to recent changes to Ontario’s Blue Box program.

In a release issued this week, the Township said it has secured approval to open the depot at the Huron Landfill in Ripley.

The depot was needed as an additional option for residents, particularly those without access to curbside Blue Box service.

The depot accepts all eligible Blue Box recyclable materials, but the Township says it has a limited capacity. Residents without curbside collection can use the depot during regular hours, while those with curbside service are encouraged to continue using their home Blue Box collection as their primary recycling method, only using the depot occasionally when needed.

The depot is open Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
