Barnstormers pitcher named CBL Pitcher of the Week

Dakota Parsons earned the Canadian Baseball League's (CBL) Pitcher of the Week title after a lights out game over the weekend.

On Saturday, Parsons pitched six shutout innings with seven strikeouts against the Barrie Baycats. The game ultimately ended up as a 7-2 loss, with Barnstormers relief pitchers giving up four runs in the seventh inning, two runs in the eighth, and one more in the ninth.

Chatham-Kent acquired Parsons from the Kitchener Panthers in February.

The 29-year-old right hander struck out 54 batters in his two seasons with the Panthers, posting a 1.55 WHIP and holding opponents to a .220 batting average. He also spent the winter in New Zealand, where he pitched for the Waitakere Bears Baseball Club.

Since joining the Barnstormers, Parsons has an ERA of 1.53 with 17 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched.
