Chatham-Kent (CK) Transit fares are being raised as part of the municipality's Driving Forward Strategy.
The strategy was approved by council in 2020, and these most recent increases are to achieve 25 per cent service cost recovery.
Ride CK ticket costs going up include:
Exact Cash for inter-urban services will rise $0.25 to $5.50.
30-Day Urban Pass under the Affordable Bus Pass Program will increase $0.76 to $41.99.
30-Day Urban Pass will increase $1.53 to $83.98 for adults, and by $1.22 to $65.98 for seniors.
Exact Cash for Chatham and Wallaceburg specialized urban transit, and the Semester Pass, will remain the same cost.
According to Municipality of CK Manager of Corporate Communications Eric Labadie, these adjustments are the last council-approved increases, and no new fare increases are planned at the moment for the short term.
These increases will come into effect on July 1.
